There is no requirement of PESO where cylinder manifold is provided for installation capacity up to 8000 kg. Please refer to the following points for your understanding:
Gas Cylinder Rules 2016
Page No. 75, Serial No. 44c, states:
“Notwithstanding anything contained in rule 43, a license is not obligatory for workplaces where LPG cylinders are directly connected to the manifold. However, the requirements of IS:6044 Part-1 must be complied with. Such manifold installations should adhere to sound engineering practices, and the LPG quantity at any given time must not exceed the limits prescribed in IS-6044 Part-1.”
According to the text above, no license is required for LPG cylinders that are directly connected to manifolds, provided that the requirements of IS 6044 Part-1 are met.
IS 6044 Part 1
Page No. 3, Serial No. 5.1.7, states:
“If the installation has more than 1000 kg of LPG, installations in multiples of 1000 kg with a manifold, safety devices, and a changeover mechanism may be provided. The minimum distance between such installations must be 2 metres on all sides. The total number of such installations, including any standby installations, must not exceed eight.”
Based on the above, a premises can have up to eight manifolds, each with a 1000 kg capacity, totalling 8000 kg of LPG.
In summary, it is evident that no license is required for LPG cylinders with a combined capacity of up to 8000 kg that are directly connected to manifolds.
