- Purpose:
The purpose of this procedure is to ensure the required level of skills (which directly affect the quality) are identified, personnel trained and certified as required.

The procedure shall be applied to all training activities undertaken by Gassol personnel pertaining to inspection and testing, sales and execution of projects.

- Procedure:
- General
- Staff are recruited against a job description, drafted by the HR Manager and approved by the Director, which prescribes the qualifications and experience required for the appointment. Appointments will be confirmed in writing, and the appointee will be provided with terms of reference for the position(s) allocated. GASSOL shall define and document the competence requirements (Competency Requirement Matrix) for all personnel involved in inspection activities, including requirements for education, training, technical knowledge, skills and work experience.
- Immediately following appointment, and before being authorised to commence work, staff are given appropriate induction training, which is detailed in and recorded, to ensure that they have a thorough understanding of the QMS and their role and inter-relationships within the organisation.
- Staff are responsible for maintaining the qualifications essential to their function, ensuring that their CV is maintained up-to-date.
- The organisation makes provision for internal and external continuation of training, including an annual review of training needs for each technical or management position holder. A record of the annual review and any training provided is maintained in the relevant staff member’s confidential file.
- Administrative Staff
- Prior to appointment, staff are provided with specific training and written terms of reference.
- All the admin and accounts personnel will be able to demonstrate familiarity with all the Inspection Body requirements, rules and regulations relevant to their task assigned. Appropriate training shall be provided to accomplish the task.
- Inspectors
- Inspectors act in accordance with a prescribed job description briefly contained within documented procedures. Gassol shall determine the necessary competence for personnel performing work affecting the quality. Gassol has a competency Matrix and Competency availability matrix for all the existing designations in the organisation chart.
- Inspectors are appointed by the HR Admin, following a review of the adequacy of the resource needed to accomplish the assessment tasks in hand or proposed, and are authorised by the Director.
- The appointment is made following due consideration of the relevance of the competency of the personnel which covers certification and qualifications, background and experience of the individual concerned.
- Inspectors are required to hold and maintain valid certification acceptable to the Inspection Body for the Inspections in which GASSOL is involved.
- The training-need analysis is based on the Inspectors performance. Evaluation carried out on annual basis and/or based on customer feedback. A mentored working period with experienced inspectors; Personnel familiar with the inspection methods and procedures shall monitor all inspectors and other personnel involved in inspection activities for satisfactory performance. Results of monitoring shall be used as a means of identifying training needs. Monitoring can include a combination of techniques, such as on-site observations, report reviews, interviews, simulated inspections and other techniques to assess performance, and will depend on the nature of inspection activities.
- The performance of Inspectors is continually reviewed annually by the HR Admin on both technical performance and behavior in consultation with QA Manager. Any observation of inappropriate behaviour or unethical behaviour is to be noted and appropriate action needs to be taken for the same.
- To keep pace with developing technology and Inspection methods GASSOL takes appropriate measures to train all its inspectors on advanced technologies.
- GASSOL maintains records of monitoring, education, training, technical knowledge, skills, experience and authorization of each member of its personnel involved in inspection activities.
